About
With over 50 Take Nothings achieved during his legal career, Jeff is quite comfortable taking matters to trial. 25 years of defending employers, carriers and third-party administrators in California’s worker compensation system have taught him when claims need to be tried and when claims should be settled. Mitigation of client expenses is certainly a priority, but there are times when precedent must be demonstrated to a workforce that an employer will not settle a meritless claim solely for the sake of expediency.
Jeff understands that the law, itself, is only one part of what is necessary to be successful in a frequently changing system. Knowing as much about the different venues, individual judges, opposing practitioners and medical legal evaluators is an acquired skill that Jeff uses to his advantage acknowledging that each case requires its own adaptation to be properly defended.
In addition to his comfort level in the courtroom, Jeff enjoys the challenge of deposing doctors, especially, psychologists and psychiatrists given the greater level of subjectivity that exists in behavioral medicine.
Jeff earned in Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley. His Juris Doctor was obtained from Chapman University as part of the law school’s founding class. During law school, he decided he wanted to further expand his education concurrently obtaining his Master’s Degree in Human Resources Design from Claremont Graduate University.
In his spare time, Jeff enjoys saltwater fishing, his Newfoundland’s and air cooled Volkswagens.
