After nearly three decades of professional experience, Shirley Nichols has embarked on a new chapter dedicated to the legal profession and public service. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from Trinity Law School in May 2026 and has since continued developing her legal experience through her work at the Compton Courthouse with the Honorable Judge Gauff.

During law school, Shirley demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence and service. She completed a summer internship with Christian Legal Services, gaining practical legal experience while assisting individuals and communities in need. She also distinguished herself academically by receiving two prestigious AMJUR awards for earning the highest grade in her class in Contracts I and Torts II. Following graduation, she began serving at the Compton Courthouse with the Honorable Judge Gauff, where she continues to gain valuable hands-on experience within the California court system and deepen her understanding of judicial proceedings and the practice of law.

Her son, Ryder Wynn, has been an important part of Shirley’s journey and a constant source of inspiration as she pursued her legal education and professional calling.
