About
Since 2011, Sophie Duncan has built her career in the Workers’ Compensation industry, focusing on experience in lien defense, lien litigation strategy, and claims management. Early in her career, she held litigation-heavy roles as a lien vendor supervisor handling complex lien issues and as a defense firm hearing representative for multiple government entities, including LAUSD, LBUSD, and the UC Regents. With the goal of helping adjusters effectively defend against liens during the case-in-chief phase, Sophie also developed and led trainings on liens and medical-legal expenses.
Sophie’s more recent experience as a CPWC adjuster with Corvel and as an in-house hearing representative with Amtrust has deepened her understanding of claims handling and employer priorities, resulting in an approach to achieving timely and cost-conscious closure. Known for her discernment and practical approach, she specializes in evaluating cases to balance the costs of litigation with efficient settlements. She prides herself on maintaining strong relationships with lien claimants and clients alike, while staying up-to-date on evolving regulatory trends.
Outside of work, Sophie is a full-time student that enjoys distance running and traveling with her partner.
